‘Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian’ is an upcoming adventure comedy film and is a sequel of ‘The first Night at the Museum’. It is directed by Shawn Levy, of ‘Big Fat Liar’, ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ and ‘The Pink Panther’ fame. The script has been written by Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon and Simon Kinberg.

The film stars Ben Stiller, Dick Van Dyke, Robin Williams, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Rami Malek, Hank Azaria, Bill Hader, Ricky Gervais, Christopher Guest and Steve Coogan. 20th Century Fox is distributing the film and is set for release on May 22, 2009.

The movie “Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian” will bring to life the Smithsonian Institution, which houses the world’s largest museum complex with more than 136 million items in its collections, ranging from the plane Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams) flew on her non-stop solo flight across the Atlantic and Al Capone’s rap sheet and mug shot to Dorothy’s ruby red slippers, Fonzie’s jacket from “Happy Days” and Archie Bunker’s lounge chair from “All in the Family”.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’s Simon Beaufoy to write ‘Leap Year’


Simon Beaufoy is set to write Spyglass Entertainment’s upcoming comedy film “Leap Year”. Recently, Beaufoy won a Golden Globe award and got nominated for an Oscar for his acclaimed screenplay for “Slumdog Millionaire”. His writing credits include “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day” and “The Full Monty,” for which he also received an Oscar nomination in 1998.

The film ‘Leap Year’ stars Amy Adams in the lead role. Anand Tucker of “And When Did You Last See Your Father?” is going to direct the film.

The film ‘Leap Year’ is about a young woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, Feb. 29. Tradition says men have to say yes on that day. But when bad weather threatens to ruin her plan, she embarks on a turbulent trip with an Irish innkeeper to pull off her proposal before it’s too late.
